GETTING OFF TO A GOOD START IN THE VINEYARD!
Today the weather is a little cloudy, however, it really didn’t matter for our organised wine tour and tasting guests this afternoon as we all strolled around the corner from Le Clos des Guyons to the Domaine de la Paleine, only just a few minutes away. Here is a picture of everyone altogether getting off to a good start in the vineyard with Brian who led them around the winemaking facilities and their huge underground cellars.

At the same time we also discussed which foods would pair well with the wines. Well, here are some of our favourites:- Coteau de Saumur with fromage de Chevre, Roquefort or St Agur, even Tarte Tatin; Saumur Puy Notre Dame Moulin des Quints with sanglier au pain d’epices, roti de biche aux champignons des bois, or terrine; Casta Diva with lobster, oysters or thai or chinese food; Anjou Pamina with strong cheeses, blanquette de veau or fish with a beurre blanc sauce.
An enjoyable afternoon was had by one and all and a big thankyou to Patrick Nivealleau, Maitre de Chai at the Domaine de la Paleine, for his customary welcome.
